The Canadian Eritrean Youth Development (CEYD) was honoured to help fund a major Zakat al-Fitr distribution initiative in Sudan during Ramadan 2026, supporting vulnerable families facing displacement, food insecurity, and ongoing humanitarian hardship.
Through our local implementation partner in WeDCO, support reached communities in North Darfur and Kassala, providing essential food assistance to 2,355 families (11,775 individuals). Priority was given to widows, female-headed households, displaced families, elders, orphans, and people living in poverty.
This effort reflects the power of community generosity. Donations from supporters helped deliver food directly into the hands of families in need during one of the most blessed times of the year. We thank SCAO, SNMC, MAC, AMA, Daleel and our donors for their support in this great initiative.
