During Ramadan 2026, the Canadian Eritrean Youth Development (CEYD) was honoured to help fund a large-scale food basket distribution program for vulnerable families in Sudan.
Working through trusted partners, including WeDCO and SCAO, the initiative delivered 500 food baskets to families in North Darfur and Kassala, reaching displaced persons, refugees, and low-income households during the blessed month. The project supported approximately 2,500 individuals, helping families meet essential food needs at a critical time.
Each basket included staple items such as flour, sugar, lentils, dates, cooking oil, and juice powder — practical support that brought relief and dignity to households fasting during Ramadan.
