Turning Collective Support into Meaningful Change
Canadian Eritrean Youth Development (CEYD) is proud to share the impact made possible through the generosity, trust, and continued support of our community, donors, volunteers, and partners.
Through youth-led initiatives, community fundraising, and trusted partnerships, we work to empower Eritrean youth in Canada while providing critical humanitarian and educational support to vulnerable families and displaced communities abroad.
Together, we are creating meaningful and lasting changes.
International Impact
CEYD expresses its unwavering support for Eritrean refugees and displaced families enduring hardship as a result of conflict, forced displacement, and poverty. This also includes Sudanese migrants and displaced families. Funds raised provided direct assistance to internally displaced persons and vulnerable families, including cash support, food assistance, medical supplies, and clean water access.
Refugee School Support
In 2025, CEYD raised $86,000 in support of Kassala Refugee School and Wad-Sharefy Refugee School in eastern Sudan. This funding supported 1,200+ students and over 50 teachers & staff.
Food Security & Essential Aid
Through Ramadan food basket distributions, Zakat programs, and emergency food assistance, CEYD helped ensure families could access essential nutrition during periods of severe food insecurity.
Clean Water & Medical Support
CEYD supported water delivery initiatives and facilitated the donation of medical equipment and mobility devices to healthcare facilities and communities in need, improving access to safe water and essential medical care.
Orphan Sponsorship
CEYD provided ongoing support to 267 orphaned children living in refugee camps which helped cover essential needs:
- Food, clean water, and clothing
- Education and learning materials
- Healthcare and psychosocial support

CEYD is committed to responsible stewardship of the resources entrusted to us. We work closely with trusted partners, maintain clear oversight, and prioritize transparency and accountability in all of our programs and financial practices.

Youth Workshops & Career Development
Throughout the year, CEYD delivered youth-focused workshops and seminars addressing:
- Career exploration and counselling
- Confidence and self-esteem building
- Mental health and wellbeing
- Navigating education systems and professional pathways
Youth Employment & Leadership
CEYD employed and mentored youth through summer employment opportunities, supporting skill development in areas such as communications, event planning, outreach, and program delivery. Several participants have since continued supporting CEYD’s work in ongoing leadership roles.
